Feeling inspired by someone else's model? Some Studio Gallery designs can be downloaded and opened in Studio!
Designers decide whether or not their model can be downloaded. You can download and import a design to:
- See how it looks in more detail
- Browse their instructions in Studio to build with real parts
- Generate render shots
- Modify it for your own needs (but don't republish it without an agreement from the original author)
Importing a model in Studio
- Open the Welcome Screen from the menu Help | Welcome to Studio.
- Click on the Studio Gallery tab to view the Gallery in the Studio app.
- Studio Gallery designs are displayed in a grid. You can scroll down to see more designs, or search (A) and filter designs (B).
- Click on a design to expand its details.
- You can view the design details (C) and scroll down to read more about a design, or click on Back (A) to keep browsing and searching the Gallery.
- Click Import (B) to download and open it in Studio. If the button is greyed out, the design is set to Display mode - either by choice or because it may infringe on intellectual property (IP) rights.
- If you’re not yet logged in with your BrickLink account, Studio will ask for your username and password before starting a download.
You can also download designs from the Studio Gallery using a web browser.
- Open the Studio Gallery in your browser.
- Browse for a design you like.
- Click on the design to see its details.
- Click on the Download Studio File button (if the designer allows downloads).
- Open the downloaded file in Studio!
